Short, intense workouts with outsized health benefits

Group HIIT is built around high-intensity interval training, with low-impact and beginner options so everyone can take part.

Time-efficient fitness

One minute of intensity, 45 minutes of results

Over 12 weeks, a 10-minute workout with just one minute of all-out effort improved fitness, insulin sensitivity and muscle health about as much as 45 minutes of moderate continuous exercise.

Gillen et al., PLOS ONE, 2016. Randomized trial
Minutes matter

Three one-minute bursts a day, longer life

In a study of over 25,000 non-exercisers, three or four one-minute bouts of vigorous activity a day were linked to up to 40% lower risk of death from any cause or cancer, and up to 49% lower risk of cardiovascular death.

Stamatakis et al., Nature Medicine, 2022. Observational, UK Biobank
Heart & metabolic disease

Bigger fitness gains than steady cardio

In patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, metabolic syndrome or obesity, HIIT improved cardiorespiratory fitness significantly more than moderate continuous exercise. Cardiorespiratory fitness is a strong predictor of long-term health.

Weston, Wisløff & Coombes, British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2014. Meta-analysis of 10 studies, 273 patients
Type 2 diabetes

Better blood sugar control

HIIT reduced insulin resistance compared with both no exercise and continuous training. The greatest benefits, including lower fasting glucose, were seen in people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes.

Jelleyman et al., Obesity Reviews, 2015. Meta-analysis

Cancer

Slowed markers of prostate cancer progression

In a randomized trial of men with localized prostate cancer under active surveillance, 12 weeks of HIIT improved fitness, lowered PSA levels and slowed PSA rise compared with usual care. Their blood serum also slowed the growth of prostate cancer cells in the lab.

Kang et al., JAMA Oncology, 2021. Randomized controlled trial, 52 patients
Cancer risk

3–4 minutes a day linked to lower cancer risk

Among more than 22,000 adults who didn't exercise, about 3.5 minutes a day of short, vigorous bursts was linked to up to an 18% lower cancer incidence, and up to 32% lower for cancers tied to physical activity.

Stamatakis et al., JAMA Oncology, 2023 (University of Sydney). Observational, wearable-tracked
Healthy aging

Reverses age-related decline in muscle cells

Researchers found HIIT boosted the energy-producing capacity of muscle cells by 69% in adults aged 65–80, a larger gain than in younger participants.

Mental health

Less depression, better well-being

Across randomized controlled trials, HIIT produced moderate improvements in depression severity and in overall mental well-being, a meaningful benefit for workforce wellness.

Martland et al., British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2022. Systematic review & meta-analysis

Research summaries are provided for general information. Group HIIT is a fitness program, not a medical treatment. If you have a health condition, consult your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
